Kids Think They’re Making Speech About Military Dad Who’s Deployed, Then They Turn Around

Air Force Technical Sergeant Yenier Diaz has been deployed in the Middle East for seven months, but when he found out he was returning home, he wanted to make it an unforgettable moment for his three kids.

Julian, Skye, and Jason thought they were at their local ballpark to talk about life in a military family. Little did they know, their dad had a very special surprise planned for them.

“These kids in front of us represent over one million children of active duty members worldwide,” a man on the microphone said to the audience in the stands.

He then gave the kids souvenir game balls and then told them he has one more ball that they actually sent to their dad and asked Skye to read it.

On the ball in permanent marker read, “Miss you guys – Papi. Turn around.”

At first, the kids were extremely confused, but when they turned around, their beloved dad was standing there waiting for them.

Skye screamed with joy and the three of them ran to their dad to give him the biggest hug as the crowd cheered.

“We didn’t know at all, because when we called him that day, he said his FaceTime wasn’t working,” Jason said.

“I honestly didn’t know he was coming, and I was super excited ’cause I absolutely love him,” Skye said.

Diaz says he thought about this moment since the minute he deployed nearly seven months ago, and is ecstatic to finally be back with his kids.
