Woman Shocked by Neighbor Who Tied an Unwanted Malamute to a Fence
Cruelty to animals.
It remains a vague idea to many people around the globe. In a society where crimes against persons and properties are prevalent, you can expect the incidence rate of cruelty to animals to be high as well. If the rights, dignity, and belongings of one’s fellow humans are commonly disrespected, how much are those creatures who are considered lower than Homo sapiens disrespected?
According to Safe Voices, “Animal abuse, or animal cruelty, is the crime of inflicting physical pain, suffering, or death on an animal, usually a tame one, beyond the necessity for normal discipline. It can include neglect that is so monstrous (withholding food and water) that the animal has suffered, died, or been put in imminent danger of death.”
How about tethering or chaining a dog to a fence; is it a form of animal cruelty? Based on the regulations imposed by the US Department of Agriculture for the reinforcement of the Animal Welfare Act, the permanent tethering of dogs is prohibited to be used as a primary enclosure. Meanwhile, temporary tethering for the same purpose needs approval from the Animal and Plant Health Service.
In the case of this poor Malamute, the Original Poster found him chained to their neighbor’s fence during a heavy rainstorm on New Year’s Eve. And when she asked her neighbor if she could bring him inside her house to keep him warm, he told her that she needed to buy the dog, since he no longer wanted the animal.
To save the Malamute from their heartless and indecent neighbor, OP asked the followers of Captain the Bulldog for financial help. Through their generosity, she was able to raise the necessary funds for the dog and his care.

Now, the Malamute, whom she named Bear, lives with her family. After discovering how enjoyable life can be, he blossomed from a lonely dog into a very sweet and loyal pet!
And yet, just more than two months after his rescue, OP had to take Bear to the veterinary hospital again. It seems that the back injuries he sustained from severe beatings when he was still with his former owner didn’t heal completely. Also, he may be suffering due to complications from being neutered before OP was able to rescue him.

OP’s heartbroken. Everyone’s praying, too. This dog deserves to be happy for a long time, for as long as it’s possible for Bear. Everyone wishes for a happy ending. Everyone wishes that animal cruelty will stop.
What are the right things to say to comfort an innocent animal who’s a victim of animal cruelty? What can we do to make up for all the anguish that mankind has caused to countless vulnerable creatures?
Our only consolation is that there are still people in this world who care enough to fight for what is right, no matter how much it takes, no matter how agonizing and grueling it feels.
