Tennessee Tree Hound Could Bring a Whole “Lotta” Love into His New Furever Home
If you need a whole Lotta love in your life, the Pima Animal Care Center has got the perfect dog for you!! Lotta was found as a stray hiding under a cargo container, and while he’s appreciative of having a soft bed and reliable meals in the shelter, he’d really like to get into a home and start learning all about being a part of a family.
Lotta is a sensitive fella and needs time to warm up to new people. He’ll need a patient family who will give him time to adjust to a new environment and who will show him what it’s like to be loved. Here’s what one volunteer said about this sweet boy:
“My first walk with Lotta was last week, and he was nervous and slow to walk out of the kennel. We had a short walk, and he accepted pets. Fast forward to this Thursday/Friday, and Lotta was at the front of his kennel waiting to be walked. I gave him a small treat and leashed him up for our outing.
“He is a slow walker and also kept close to me but did much better than the prior week. We left the shelter and headed to the park. He walked well on his leash, and he seemed to be happy to be out. Again, I gave him some pets along the way. On our walk back, he pulled slightly and seemed happy to be heading back to his safe place. He is a very nice dog who needs to be reassured that all people are not unkind. I can’t wait to walk him again!”
Lotta has made great progress in his time at the shelter, so in a home with a loving and supportive family, the sky is likely the limit! When meeting other dogs in playgroup, Lotta was nervous but was tolerant overall and kept to himself or looked for reassurance from the handlers in the yard. Please ask about Lotta today!
He is a neutered brown brindle Tennessee Treeing Hound that weighs approximately 55 lbs. The shelter staff thinks he’s only about 3 years old. Lotta’s been at the shelter since February 28, 2023, and he’s ready to go home today!
