The Rock Gifts New Truck To Man Who Took Him In When He Was A Homeless Teen

You wouldn’t know it now, but when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was younger in his teenage years, he was homeless.

He and his mom were evicted from their home and he was sent to live with his father in Nashville, Tennessee. But once he got there, plans changed, and he didn’t end up moving with his dad.

Instead, he was told he was going to live with a man named Bruno Lauer, who lived in a small room at the Alamo Plaza motel. Despite not knowing Johnson, Lauer took him in and helped him.

“My life (especially my teenage years) has been full of the wildest twists and turns – yet God and the universe had always found a way to put a few people in my path that would change the trajectory of the road I was going down,” The Rock wrote on Instagram.

What began as two strangers trying to make ends meet, blossomed into a beautiful life-long friendship.

Nine years later, Johnson began wrestling in Memphis, but found himself homeless again. Lauer once again took Johnson in until he could get on his feet.

Eventually, Johnson’s wrestling career took off, and soon he would begin his acting career as well. Today, Johnson is extremely successful, but it’s all thanks to Lauer.

Johnson decided to show his appreciation for Lauer by surprising him with a brand new truck for Christmas. The surprise was filmed and posted to The Rock’s Instagram, which you can watch below.

“I love you, brother,” Johnson wrote in the caption. “Your kindness and heart – helped change my life’s trajectory. And when you’re ready to retire from “the business” you just say the word. I got you covered.”
