Teen Returns Woman’s Lost Purse And Gets $15,500 Reward

A 17-year-old teen in San Diego, California received quite a surprise after returning a woman’s lost purse to her home.

According to Inside Edition, Adrian Rodriquez found the purse in a shopping cart in a parking lot and he decided to do the right thing.

While many people might’ve left it alone or worse, taken the purse and emptied its contents, Adrian decided to figure out who the purse belonged to and return it.

The 17-year-old pulled out an ID in the purse and drove to the address listed on it. He went out of his way to drive to the house, get out of his car, and knock on the door to return the bag.

The purse belonged to Eliana Martin and her friend’s aunt opened the door when Adrian knocked. She accepted the purse and sent Adrian on his way, but when Eliana and her friend learned of his good deed, they wanted to personally thank him and reward him.

After posting on Facebook with a video from the home’s security system, it wasn’t long before Adrian was identified. The women started a GoFundMe to raise a small reward for Adrian, with a goal of gifting him $1,000.

In just a matter of days, 706 donors pitched in to raise over $15,500 and counting!

In an interview with NBC News, Adrian said: “It feels good. I appreciate it. I really do, everything everybody’s doing. My mom always told me since I was little to always do the right thing when nobody’s around.”
