Family Mistakes Tasmanian Devil For A Plush Toy After It Broke Into Their Home

When most of us think about a Tasmanian devil, the first thing that comes to mind is Loony Tunes. The cartoon character certainly is something that was hilarious, but it seems as if the real Tasmanian devil is not quite so amusing.

A family in Australia was able to find this out firsthand when they had a Tasmanian devil invade their home. According to ABC News, they even thought that the little critter was a stuffed toy at first that belong to the dog but it wasn’t long before they realized quite the opposite.

According to the outlet, the mother, Kristin Lynch, said: “This little Tasmanian devil was hiding underneath my couch. I got a fright of my life. I woke the whole family up.”

The family has a four-month-old golden retriever and it was making some unusual noises which alerted Kristin to something being wrong. She didn’t know why the dog was making noises at first so she decided to give the dog his stuffed animal, a Tasmanian devil.

What she didn’t realize was the fact that the stuffed animal was actually a real animal and then she started taking video of it running through the house. She was absolutely freaking out, standing on top of the dining table and not quite sure what to do.

Fortunately, her husband was there and he managed to get the critter out from under the couch and outside again. They feel that the animals are probably more frightened of them than they were of it, but they did realize that Tasmanian devils would bite someone if they were cornered.

Nobody wanted the Tasmanian devil to be harmed so they called the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and asked for help.

They think that the critter got into their home because they left the door open. If you going to welcome the animals in, you can expect this from time to time.
