North Carolina Family Finds Squirrel Hiding In Living Room Christmas Tree

With the holiday season in full swing, many people are cozying up indoors and watching some good ol’ Christmas movies. One classic that many people turn to is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

It’s a holiday favorite for many people, and if you’re familiar with that movie, you probably remember the hilarious squirrel scene.

The Griswald family is in the living room when they discover a squirrel hiding in their Christmas tree.

Plenty of screaming and running about ensues as they attempt to remove the squirrel from the tree while treating it like a deadly predator.

The moment is hilarious to watch on TV, but a similar situation unfolded in real life for a family in North Carolina!

Photographer Taylor Stading lives in Waxhaw, North Carolina with her husband and three kids. They had a beautiful Christmas tree set up in their living room, when Stading noticed some movement coming from the branches. Suddenly, a squirrel pops out!

Just like in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, screaming and running around ensues as Stading attempts to remove the squirrel from her home without getting too close to it.

Taylor Stading shared a three-part video saga Facebook that detailed her encounter with the squirrel. You can see clips from the videos in the news segment below:

In the end, the squirrel was able to escape through the window and the Christmas tree remained unharmed. All is well that ends well!
