Long-Stay Shelter Dog Spoiled With Donated Toys & Treats While He Waits For A Forever Home

Lance, a 2-year-old Labrador retriever mix, was surrendered by his owner on September 16, 2022. He is still waiting for someone to adopt him at Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.

The handsome pup has a lot of energy and is looking for an active partner who will take him along on adventures. He is still learning to walk nicely on a leash but improves every day. Lance will need a home without cats or children but is always up for a game of fetch or tug.

The shelter shared, “He is a muscular young boy who is surprisingly very strong on a leash for his size. Lance was neutered on September 20, 2022, and has a lot of pent-up energy in the shelter. Lance is selective about which dogs he will accept into his circle of friends and, as always, we suggest a proper introduction when meeting new dogs. All of these things make it hard to find him the perfect home- but we will.”

Lance is ready to find his person but, in the meantime, he is being spoiled with donated toys and delicious treats. The shelter received a donation of toys, treats, and supplies from Greater Good Charities’ GOODS program which they used for training and to break up the long days for the dogs and cats.

Greater Good Charities started the GOODS program to lend a helping hand to animal shelters across the country. Many are overcrowded and unable to afford pet food for all the animals in their care. Your support allows us to help feed and care for homeless pets until they find a loving home.
