Roadrunner Escapes Coyote By Jumping In Arizona Ranger’s Truck

Beep, beep!

An Arizona Park Ranger experienced something straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. Remember the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote… well their ongoing feud has come to life in Lost Dutchman State Park.

A roadrunner was being chased by a tenacious coyote and managed to escape by leaping into the truck of an Arizona Park Ranger.

While no anvil or boulder was dropped, the roadrunner managed to escape just in time. The bird took a few moments to rest which allowed Ranger Jackie just enough time to take a picture to share the rare experience with the world.

Arizona State Parks tweeted the photo with the caption, “POV: you were running away from the coyote and got confused…

Numerous people commented on the photo. One person shared, “My grandmother taught me it’s a sign of health issues/healing❤️‍🩹⚕️I have two roadrunners who nest near my property. They show up when I’m sick and don’t leave until I’m well again🪶. As long as an anvil doesn’t fall on you, you’ll be okay.”

Others couldn’t resist making references to the cartoon. “Do not go near any boulders. Especially if there is a tunnel-like mark that wasn’t there yesterday. It’s a trap,” warned a follower.

Another wrote, “If he catches you, you’re through.”
