Rescue Cat Goes To Work With Dad At A Museum Every Day

A rescue cat in Wilmington, Delaware has given “take your pet to work day” a whole new meaning. The orange tabby cat was rescued back in 2009 and has been going to work with his dad ever since!

The cat, Dude, was rescued by Chris who just so happens to be the facility director at the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science.

In an interview with The Dodo, Chris explained that he found Dude back in 2009. The stray feline was outside the museum by a dumpster when Chris approached and the cat made himself at home ever since.

Chris ended up taking the cat in and welcoming him to the museum. “He’s been here ever since, as, like, our unofficial mascot,” Chris said.

Since Chris found Dude in 2009, the cat has been going to work with him at the museum every day. Chris said he runs the place and is quite pampered. He’s become well-known and loved by everyone who frequents the museum.

Dude has free run of the museum and a sign was even installed around his favorite lounge spot in the yard! The sign reads: “This is dude’s territory.”

Despite being a former stray, Dude is quite affectionate and friendly and he makes friends with guests around the museum. He really adds something special to the atmosphere!
