Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Adopt Rescue Beagle From Mass Breeding Facility

A rescue dog named Mama Mia is getting her happily ever after and living out her golden years in royalty after being adopted by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The 7-year-old beagle was one of the 4,000 beagles rescued from a Virginia breeding facility.

Mama Mia was used for breeding puppies at the facility, and her puppies (if they survived) were cruelly taken and sold to laboratories for experiments.

It was a horrible life to live, but after being rescued, Mia’s life quickly went from rags to riches.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Meghan Markle adopted Mama Mia from the Beagle Freedom Project.

Speaking with Inside Edition, the organization’s founder, Shannon Keith, said that Mama Mia spent her entire life in the breeding facility living in horrific condition. Despite that, she maintained a sweet, loving attitude and everyone who met her after the rescue fell in love.

Keith told the LA Times, “[Meghan] calls on my cell with no Caller ID and says, ‘Hey Shannon, this is Meghan.’ We talked for 30 minutes, and I thought, ‘Is this Megan Fox?’”

Harry and Meghan arranged to meet Mama Mia at the rescue facility after hours and ended up taking her now.

Now, she’ll get to live out her golden years at the couple’s royal estate in Montecito, California. Markle is already the owner of a beagle named Guy so Mama Mia will have some canine company as well!
