Tourists Watch In Awe As Wild Polar Bear Approaches Dog And Begins Petting It

Polar bears may be popular as stuffed animals but in the wild, they are not quite as warm and fuzzy. They are among some of the most vicious animals on the earth and any person or animal would do their best to stay clear of them.

That being said, there are also times when even the wildest of animals can take us by surprise. Nobody knows this better than David De Meulles, a naturalist and adventurer in Canada.

Recently, David took some people out into the Canadian wilderness so that they could meet up with a polar bear. They didn’t necessarily want to go up and pet the bear but they just want to see it in the wild.

They were able to find a polar bear but they saw more than what they were expecting. Fortunately, they were also able to capture the moment and it is amazing to see.

The polar bear was having a meeting with another animal, and it was going differently than anybody could’ve expected. It was a Canadian Eskimo dog and at first, they were not quite sure what was going to happen.

That is when they saw the polar bear start petting the dog, almost as if the two of them were old friends.

The pup would have certainly been in a lot of danger because he was chained at the time. Although tying up a dog in that way is discouraged, it is done from time to time.

David said: “I’ve known the bears to have somewhat friendly behaviour with dogs, but for a bear to pet like a human would pet a dog is just mind-blowing.”
