NASA Selects Former Astronaut To Study UFO Sightings
It doesn’t matter if you have seen a UFO or not, you likely have an opinion on the subject. When it comes up in conversation, you will voice that opinion and sometimes, you might just be surprised by what you hear coming back in your direction.
It seems as if we are not the only ones who are interested in discussions about UFO sightings. NASA has selected 16 people who will participate in a study associated with UFOs, and we can’t wait to hear what they come up with.

According to a press release, in order to learn more about the phenomenon, the research team will work for nine months to review observations that have already come in and analyze data associated with future sightings.
Interestingly, they are not looking to determine if the UFO sightings are real, they just want to understand more of what is necessary to learn from future sightings. Who knows, however, what they will learn in the process?
An administrator at NASSA, Thomas Zurbuchen, spoke about how important it was to explore the unknown in space and the atmosphere to NASA.

In the press release, he went on to say: “Understanding the data we have surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies. Data is the language of scientists and makes the unexplainable, explainable.”
One of the individuals associated with the study is Scott Kelly, a former astronaut. He piloted the Space Shuttle Discovery and at one time, was the record-holder for spending the most days in outer space.
When Kelly spoke with Fox News in 2018, he said that he believes that life does exist on other planets. He went on to say that he does not feel that UFO sightings on earth are associated with alien activity.

Kelly explained: “I think there is probably life in the universe. Hopefully intelligent life, but I don’t think they visit planet Earth.”
The study of UFOs is important to NASA on a number of levels. It is important for air safety as well as national security. If they are able to gather the proper data, they would be in a better position to determine why it happened.
