George is a 135-pound Mastiff who’s very friendly toward other animals. Among his pals are a chicken and a duck, but his best friend forever was Debbie the pig.
Sadly, their friendship could not last forever and Debbie passed away. It left a gaping hole in George’s heart.
Then, an unexpected thing happened, as George’s fur mom related with happiness. She found a stray kitten at the park, and, since she could not locate any owner, she took the tiny kitten home and named it Wendy.
She and her family have been adopting animals for years, but it was George to whom she truly entrusted Wendy. She was just as tiny as his paw, but the kitten quickly took a liking to the giant dog. She positioned herself between his paws, and there was no fear in the kitten that the mastiff’s weight might crush her.
From that day on, the two were inseparable. Wendy was fond of climbing all over George’s body and playing with his tail, and the mastiff appeared to like it. They often snuggle together; Wendy grooms and kisses George, and George just affectionately lets her do whatever she wants.
Wendy is more spirited than George, but George’s calm nature makes the kitten feel safe and cherished.
As their owner observes with joy and thankfulness, Wendy has filled up the emptiness that Debbie’s demise had caused in George’s heart. Now, the giant mastiff feels whole again!
What’s more, they are now a bigger family with George’s feathered buddies, all of them unmindful that their belonging to different species should be a barrier to a great friendship!Whizzco
