Young Marine Surprises His Former Marine Grandpa For His Birthday

Being in the military can be rewarding, but also challenging. It’s not uncommon for troops to leave family and loved ones behind as they go through various trainings or deployments.

A young Marine named Christian Anderson knows this all too well, and so does his grandfather, retired Marine Jeffrey B. Anderson Sr.

Anderson Sr. wanted to be at his grandson’s Marine graduation but he wasn’t able to attend. In fact, according to Rumble, Anderson Sr. had not seen Christian in almost 2 years and had never seen him in uniform before.

Christian knew his grandpa’s birthday was coming up so he decided to plan a surprise homecoming visit and the results couldn’t be better.

Anderson Sr. had no idea that Christian was coming home so he was completely caught off-guard when he turned and saw the young man clad in uniform standing beside him!

He was so surprised, his knees buckled as he cried and collapsed into a hug with his grandson. The moment was incredibly touching and managed to be captured on video.

It’s one that his family will get to treasure for years to come. Two years is a long time to go without seeing a loved one, as we all learned over the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s beautiful to see the reunion these two were able to share.

You can witness it for yourself in the video below:
