You Helped Us Fly 43 Shelter Dogs To Safety For St. Patrick’s Day!
On Thursday, March 17, we teamed up with Greater Good Charities to give 43 Louisiana shelter dogs a lucky break for St. Patrick’s Day.
Our “Luck of the Irish” Flight to Freedom–which landed on March 17 in Boise, Idaho–saved dozens of lives by flying at-risk dogs to a place where they’ll be adopted in days.
These shelter pet travelers were rescued from Louisiana, where shelter overcrowding and low rates of adoption leave animals at risk for euthanasia.
But adoptable dogs are in high demand in Boise, where–unlike in Louisiana–demand for adoption is soaring. This freedom flight just gave dozens of Louisiana dogs a second chance at life!
But we couldn’t save all these shelter pets without your generous donations, which helped us buy fuel to get this plane in the air. Thanks for helping these lucky dogs strike gold on St. Patrick’s Day!
Your donations helped us save dogs like Fia and Oshaun, two Southern pups born into an “unwanted” litter down in Louisiana. But up here in Boise, they’ll get quickly adopted into loving homes and never feel unwanted again.
Louisiana puppies Cooper, Coppola, and Popcorn were given a second chance on our Flight to Freedom.
These cute puppies also came from unwanted litters, which are sadly common in Louisiana. But these lucky pups are about to learn how geography makes all the difference when it comes to adoption.
Our Luck of the Irish” Flight to Freedom even saved a dog named Irish, who was found wandering around a graveyard in Louisiana.
After our “Luck of the Irish” Flight to Freedom landed in Boise, all 43 shelter pets were transferred to the Idaho Humane Society, where they’ll quickly be adopted into loving families.
Thanks for helping us give our St. Patrick’s Day fliers a lucky ticket to safety, adoption, and a better life!
Please make a donation if you’d like to support our next Flight to Freedom. Just $5 allows us to fund 125 air miles for one shelter pet passenger, while larger donations help us fly even more animals to safety.
