Man Installing Solar Panels Joins Search For Missing Girl And Saves Her Life

A man actively working to install solar panels stopped his job to search for a missing girl and ended up finding her right in the nick of time!

Jake Manna of Plymouth, Massachusetts was working on a site in Buttermilk Bay, an area he wasn’t really familiar with.

When he heard the neighbors around the house were searching for a missing 5-year-old girl with autism, he decided to immediately put his work on pause and help with the search.

In a Facebook post, the Plymouth Police Department explained that Jake started searching and eventually walked down a “rural trail that ended in at a stream.” Floating in the water, he spotted a diaper and a T-shirt.

The police said, “Panicked, he ran down the stream to a marsh where he found the young girl in waist-deep water. She did not listen to him and continued wading outward. He was able to make his way to her and ‘put her over his shoulder,’ carried her out, and got her to safety.”

It’s horrible to think what the outcome might’ve been if Jake hadn’t stepped in to help search. According to the police, Officer Vinne Roth stated: “That girl had a guardian angel yesterday…and his name was Jake.”

Jake was presented with a certification and a Command Coin as a “thank you” from the police department for his heroic efforts.

The police ended their post, noting: “[Jake] is the nicest, most unassuming young man that one could meet…He also has great hair!”

What a hero!
