Cops Surprise Senior Man After His Bicycle Was Stolen From Him

If you watch the news for any length of time, you are likely to hear some negative news about police officers. The news is often slanted in that direction and it may point out just a few of the “bad apples” that are not actually an accurate representation of all police officers out there.

We can only imagine how difficult it is to be a policeman. They are often in the middle of some of the most difficult situations, but there are also times when they get to take part in a kind deed as well.

That is exactly what police officers from the Cape Coral Police Department experienced. They had heard that an old man lost his bike recently because someone has stolen it, and they decided to do something about it.

According to a Facebook post from the police department, Robert called the police when his bike was stolen in February. The man, who is in his 80s, was at the Winn-Dixie store in Cape Coral, Florida, when the bike went missing. Officers Ken Cody and Guang Song were there to speak to him and learn what had happened.

When taking down the report, they found out that Robert only had one means of transportation, and it was the bike. Now that it was stolen, he didn’t have any way to get around.

Rather than simply taking down the report and filing it, they took things to the next level. They went to Walmart, purchased a new bike, and then delivered it to Robert personally. They were even able to catch the entire event on Cody’s body cam.

Cody told Robert that he had something for him. When Robert came out, he stood and checked out the new bike and even had his seat adjusted with the help of the police officer.

Song was also there to help him with the brakes and explain how they worked. They had also purchased a lock so that nobody would steal this bike from him again.

Although they had purchased a new bike for Robert, the police officers let him know that they would still be looking for the bike thief. Even somebody that was passing by at random said that the cops were the greatest in the world.

After the department shared the video online, thousands of people watched it and left positive comments about what they did. It’s a story about police officers that the world needs to hear.
