Stranger Helps Woman On The Side Of The Road And Years Later She Repays Him

Some people believe extraordinary events are coordinated by the divine, while others believe in mere coincidence or fate. Regardless of what you believe, one thing is certain: Life works in funny ways at times.

Perhaps no one knows this better than Chris Wright and TunDe Hector.

According to CBS News, Wright was driving to church one day when he spotted Hector walking on the road in the pouring rain. She was a complete stranger to him, but he felt compelled to pull over and help her out.

Apparently, Hector was down on her luck and was struggling to make ends meet. She was out of gas and walking to long stretch to the gas station in the rain with only $5 in her pocket. Wanting to help, Wright offered her a ride to the gas station, filled up her gas can, and gave her some cash.

It was a random act of kindness, and Wright never expected to see Hector again – but life had other plans. Years down the road, Wright’s mom fell ill after battling Parkinson’s disease. She didn’t have long to live, so Wright hired a hospice nurse and low and behold, that nurse turned out to be Hector.

The two didn’t recognize each other at first, but when they finally realized how they had connected so many years ago, they were blown away. Hector finally had her chance to repay Wright by taking the best possible care of his mom in her final days.

Hector cared for Judy and became close with the family as she did so. Her heart broke with them as Judy was finally laid to rest.

While working for the family, Hector mentioned that she was trying to go back to school but it was financially challenging. That’s when the family decided to help her out a little bit by starting a fundraiser. The Wrights had a goal of raising $1,000 to help her go back to school, but they quickly surpassed that and raised over $20,000!

Hector was blown away by the act of kindness. According to CBS News, when she heard about the fundraiser, she repeated, “Oh Lord have mercy. Lord, you’re so good to me. You’re kidding me.”

Chris’s wife, Carmen, shared a video of Hector’s reaction on Facebook. You can see the emotional moment in the video below:
