Adoptable Marley Would Like to Chat About His Current Living Arrangements

Hi, everybody, my name is Marley! I am a 1-year-old male lab mix, and I am so excited to find my forever home soon! I was discovered roaming in a neighborhood in North Phoenix by some nice people that connected me with Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue to help take care of me until I find my new family or my new family finds me!

I’m a bit shy at first, but once I get comfortable around you, we will be best buds, and I won’t leave your side.

I get along pretty well with other dogs, but I haven’t been around cats before, so I’m not sure if we will play together well. I do have a lot of energy, though, and love to play with toys, chase after a ball, and play in the water in my foster parents’ yard.

They have a sprinkler that I really enjoy playing with, but when they spray water across the yard with the hose, I LOVE to chase it and see how fast I can run to hopefully catch the stream of water! Yes, I’m silly, but I’m young!!!

I love to go on walks, and I always see other dogs walking really nicely by their owners’ sides. I get so excited about everything I see, though, that I forget to behave as nicely as some of the other puppers I see. Sometimes, when I’m really excited, I get kinda jumpy, but I settle down once I’m corrected. Again, I’m young…

I know how to sit and lay down, and I’ve been working on other commands but haven’t gotten them down just yet. I’m a big foodie, and I’m sure that will help me with proper training in the future, however.

I also love to cuddle any time of the day – nap time, reading time, movie time, you name it. If you’re relaxing, I’ll be joining in right next to you and would love a few belly rubs if you can spare them.

My foster parents and my friends at DLRR think a family that has some experience with rescue dogs would be a great fit for me. And if they are patient and loving, that will be helpful, too, as I learn how to manage my puppy energy with my new family.

I’m still enjoying being a puppy, but I know I have a lot of learning ahead of me. Three words my foster parents would use to describe me are loyal, loving, and playful. If you’d like to meet me and see if you’d care to bring me home and add me to your family, please reach out to my advocate!
