People say that learning is a never-ending journey.
With the minute everyday things you experience, and now more than ever with technology aiding us in our everyday life, you always absorb a new piece of information every day whether you’re aware of it happening or not.
Heck, you can even learn new things while you’re watching a simple TV show. It doesn’t even have to be a geeky show like The Big Bang Theory; it can be a cartoon, and it’ll still surprisingly drop a tidbit of information that you never knew before.
Take, for instance, Phineas and Ferb, when they made a song about aglets. Apparently, the search trends for the term peaked around the time the cartoon episode aired.
Other than these types of randomly acquired knowledge, what else did you learn about? More specifically, Reddit asks, “What’s something you learned ’embarrassingly late’ in life?”
One person said that it took them 18 years to realize that you need to use shampoo first before conditioner. But other Redditors argue that you can also use conditioner before shampoo, saying that it really all depends on your hair texture. Honestly, you do you. I know some people who actually leave it in or use conditioner as a hair gel, and their hair is fine.
Another thing that depends on the individual is how you eat soup. It wasn’t until this Redditor was around 20 that they discovered that you’re supposed to add water to condensed soup. I mean, if you want a flavorful soup, add minimal water. But eating it in its straight condensed form must’ve been quite an experience. Sadly, they didn’t say what it tasted like, but they did mention that they were essentially eating ketchup. That’s gonna be a no for me.
Now, for a person who’s been nearsighted since I was a teen and only started wearing glasses in my 20s, I know this person’s struggle. Things aren’t supposed to start to get blurry at about 15-20 feet, one Redditor said. “Learned I needed glasses at, like, 26, from one of these threads,” they wrote. It’s a whole new world out there, folks. Regularly get your eyes checked and replace your glasses!
