Shy Street Survivor “Dr. Pepper” Has Transitioned to a Loving House Kitty
Meet Dr. Pepper, a young female feline rescued from a life of scrounging for food and shelter. After struggling to survive on the streets, just skin and bones, Dr. Pepper has blossomed into absolutely loving indoor cat life. It was a big change for her to come inside, but she was accepting of human love from day one.
She is still a little shy at first, and you have to approach her slowly at her level (when she’s on the floor, cat tree, etc.) for her to feel comfortable. However, when doing this, she will then allow you to pet her, and she will love on you with sweet purrs while getting all the scritches she can!
Animal Adoption
At less than a year old, Dr. Pepper also loves to play. Feather or string wand toys that are quieter are a definite favorite of hers, as she loves to chase and bat at them. She also very much enjoys cat trees, looking out windows, and watching critters on Cat TV as some of her favorite pastimes. She’s really such a good girl that deserves a family to love her unconditionally after all she’s been through.
Foster Kitties
Not a loner as you might expect, Dr. Pepper loves playing with other cats and hanging out with them. She would do well with another kitty friend who is social, confident, and playful to help bring her out of her shell comfortably.
With dogs and older kids, she would be fine after proper introductions, some time to adjust, and those that respect and understand her boundaries. She would really enjoy kids if they play with her! She just doesn’t like to be picked up yet but that could eventually change.
Adopt, Don’t Shop
Dr. Pepper is spayed, current on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She’s also house-trained and has no special needs. If you’re interested in adding this sweet girl to your family, please fill out an adoption application on the Southern Arizona Cat Rescue website.
