Abandoned Dogs Are All Wags When The Rescuers Come To Help

Our hearts really go out to abandoned animals. They have so much love to give and unfortunately, the people who had them previously did not see it in their hearts to give them a good home.

In some parts of the world, it is relatively common to see animals living on the street. In other parts of the world, it is not quite so prevalent but it does happen from time to time.

The two dogs in this story were abandoned in Greece. People had seen them in the area for a few weeks and had reported them, but they weren’t very trusting of humans at that time.

When Ermioni from DAR Rescue came out to see if they could get the dogs, they found a rather cold reception. She was hoping that they would come to her but at first, they shied away from it.

In an effort to coax them into coming closer, she left out food, and every day, she would return to the area. It took some time but eventually, the dogs started wagging their tail when she showed up.

Check out the video below:

Since that time, they have named the dogs Margie and Anita. It really shows what some persistence can do with these beautiful animals that just wanted an opportunity for a better life.

Although the dogs were getting better about being around Ermioni, they still were hesitant to get close enough to actually get rescued. That is when a friend was brought along and eventually, they were able to get the two dogs into a car.

Margie was having a difficult time because of an ear infection that was so bad it ruptured her eardrum. Anita may have looked better on the surface but she also had a life-endangering problem of pus in her uterus.

It took some time, but the dogs were treated and began their road to recovery.

They are still being treated but now, they are with DAR at their shelter and they hope that they will be able to find them loving homes where they can live out the rest of their lives.
